" Too busy with my sales to celebrate Thanksgiving", Jonas has people to see, places to go, trades to make...he needs that phone on his ear at all times...he is so VIP

Yummm, turkey! This year Jonas actually got to participate in the festivities...Thanksgiving '07 he was 1 week old and much more into sleeping than anything else. '08 was time for eating his first turkey, stuffing, pie, oh my!

Every year the Corporon home hosts Thanksgiving to family, friends, and UNT grad students stuck in Denton. Eugene is so gracious to open his home to students who live too far from home to make that journey. This year we had 2 Japanese couples spend the holiday with us...and with Jonas as the only child there and all that additional attention. he absolutely ate it up.

Yia Yai and Jonas. Jonas spent Thanksgiving eve with his Yia Yia and she was able to make two dishes while watching him. I am lucky to take a tinkle while watching him, he is such a handful, but then again, this is the beast-master we are talking about (and she talks to Jonas like the dogs sometimes too :-)

Jonas is mastering his typing skills, he is up to 25 words/minute...weve let him know our expectations, but he seems to going through a "rebelious" phase

Little Eve was such a doll and took Jonas under her wing, he followed her everywhere she went.

Lil Miss Ashlynn and Jonas had so much fun chasing after the same toys...they look peaceful in this picture, but I think Jonas pinned Ashlynn behind the toy quickly after this shot

After Jonas finished eating the cake he deciede he wasnt quite done...there were crumbs on the floor he wasnt going to let go to waste!

Gotta have some milk to wash down that cake! Last week for the bottle, say goodbye soon!

Jonas is Daddy's best helper...all the toys that needed assembling, Jonas was front and center to make his contribution

The tissue paper was half the fun of the present!

What are the chances he would get two of these trucks? Will's buddies must think an awful lot alike.

Jonas' diet was pretty limited until the first birthday...I was careful to only introduce a new food every three days, but on this day we threw caution to the wind! Corndog for lunch, mango juice for a snack, chocolate cake for dessert, and he did just fine...oh the joys of turning 1!

Little Miss Ashlynn came to celebrate too! Jonas was so proud to show her his new walking skills since the last time they played.

The party was great for the adults since we just locked the kids in the dog crate...they hardly complained!

Im not sure why, but Jonas discovered the dog crate and has been fascinated with it ever since.

Great source of entertainment.

Well, it happened...on Thursday, October 23rd, Jonas Line took his first steps!!! Maybe thats why I had this anxiety to get home and see him tonight, I am so glad I was there for every juicy first moment of it all!!! What an amazing monumental occassion!!

Mommy's First Trip Away

Yay, I got to see my cousin Elza in San Francisco where she lives and is finishing her Masters Degree...yes, every single relative on the Poulakos side of the family has at least a Master's Degree except for me, oh and Ariana who just turned 19? No worries I am getting plenty of expereince in the wine industry which I find just a bit more interesting than academics, to each his own, right? It was a short visit with Elza, but fun nonetheless, we met up with her boyfriend and his friends at a nice dinner? But it was 3:00 PM and there were party favors on the table, oh wait was this a wedding? I felt bad crashing a wedding celebration with only 7 poeple I didnt know but Elza assured me it was fine since it was a staged wedding for the young groom who needed a green card...glad I could be a part of that. Well Elza, will it be another few years before we meet again?
My first trip away from baby Jonas, oh was I excited and nervous all the same. By the third day there I had to remind myself I had a baby, just kidding!! It was so fun to get away and not be in mommy mode for awhile...and not sleep with a baby monitor on...and not wash bottles, change diapers and all that we mommies do everyday without giving it much thought. By day 5 I was missing him terribly! Will did great on his own, Jonas even slept through the night the first night to cut Daddy some slack. Then Jonas had his first overnight at Yia Yia's where he had a blast. He really wore himself out there playing with the puppies and crawling around their house...he had some serious square-footage to cover there!

Yia Yia & Mama's Yia Yia

Mommy's Yia Yia came all the way from Greece to stay with Thia Sophia for a few months. She flew into DFW and stayed one night before they made the final strectch of the trip to Odessa where Sophia lives. Jonas and his Yia Yia were able to see Mommy's Yia Yia too. This is the only living great-grandparent on my side of the family so I was thrilled we were able to spend a little bit of time together.
My Yia Yia has plenty of experience with the babies since she raised 6 herself and now has double-digit grandbabies in Greece...I believe I am the first of the American cousins to have a baby...who is next, Thia Eroica?

Denton had quite the parade for such a small little town...we were pleasantly surprised!

Our First Trip

Kelly's Mom, Lynn a.k.a., "baby whisperer" ate up her time with Jonas and Paige. Jonas' mommy ate it up too...thanks for the break! Jonas fell asleep in Lynn's arms, I have not seen him do that since he was in his first months of life...she is indeed the baby whisperer!
Can you believe that face? What a doll...Paige was quite the trooper the day of the shower since the activities required she skip her nap. The second wind came with a vengance and she was good as new.

Tim to the rescue...BB and I had to run out for formula (poor planning on Mommy's part) and the search was not so easy (hypo-allergenic formula)...and since Jonas was put down with only half a bottle in hopes he would cry it out and go to sleep Tim decided to rescue little man from his misery and watch The Office instead, Jonas was very appreciative as were we when we returned and found them on the couch together, so cute!

Girls reunite! How fun to see Mena, Kelly and Brandi, wish we got together more often.

The final moments before we boarded the plane...Jonas did great both ways, slept just about the whole time, thank goodness!

This is my friend Ashlynn Cate Bohnsack. We met for the first time on Sunday, but we are going to be lifelong friends, I just know it. She is showing me the way of what is to come; highchairs, crawling, teething, standing...oh what fun to see what I have to look forward to.
I think she enjoyed the activity center even though she looks pained right here, its that darn tooth that popped up the night before.
Im getting so big I barley fit in Auntie Micheley's lap anymore

This was our trip to the Classic Cafe where Mommy and Daddy first met. I got to see all the old gang there and quickly got bored with the restaurant scene and made my parents take me home.
Ashlyn was very touchy she liked to pat me. As you can see I just woke up and it was a bit overwhelming to have all these people and introductions before I even knew what was going on.
Love pats, well they were a bit harder than that, but Ashlynn just wanted to see what Jonas was all about. Jonas loved watching Ashlynn in action.

I cant believe mommy is still bathing me in this silly thing...she is a baby when it comes to giving me a bath...all because of that one time she smacked my head into the cabinet after pulling me from the bath, I've forgiven her but she still gets nervous at bathtime and insists on using the ducky tub.

My parents think this chair is fun with the toys that dangle, but all I really want to do is put the toys in my mouth, so really its like torture that the toys dont reach my mouth and it just frustrates me.

Cold chillin, watching Sunday morning cartoons...almost sitting up, it kind of counts, right?

Sleepy time...passed out in mommy's arms, pudgee cheeks and all.

Twin aunties turn 21! Aunty Shelby and Auntie Lindsay turned 21 and we all got together to celebrate. Jonas did very well at his outing, he is a pro at restaurants these days...amazing what the bottle does. Happy Birthday girls!

Uncle Francis stopped by to meet the little guy...Jonas loved the game he played where he pinched his cheeks and made silly noises...you cant see it here but he was laughing up a storm.

Can you see what my bib says? "Chick Magnet", oh yeah! Mommy puts me in that carrier way too much, but we are always very busy and I am a huge helper!

Well, its official, I am obsessed with my hands, if you see me without them in my mouth that is a rare occassion...they are the best!

Jonas is getting pretty good at reaching for his toys, amazing just a week ago he couldnt figure out how to do it!

Oooh...Baby Einstein Musical Motion Acivity Jumper. BB just couldnt resist to spoil Jonas with this one. We've strategically placed it in his view as an incentive to sit up so that he can put the toy to good use! Oh how we long for the day when he can entertain himself...

Sweet...BB giving Jonas his bottle. She finally made it down from Iowa City to meet Jonas after bad weather cancelled the first trip.

Mitchy made a friend and boy did he eat it up...we try to give him love, but its just not the same now that Jonas has arrived. BB was sensitive to this and made sure to give him some extra rubs.
